NAS-DAC is the result of Monrio ten-years experience in the field of digital playback and certainly represents one of the best possible outcome under the quality-price ratio point of view. The choice of Philips L1210 mechanism, a Crystal CS8420 as sample rate converter and the most recent technology for 24 bit/192 kHz Digital-to-Analog conversion, make NAS-DAC to be a high quality device offered at a very convenient price.
The unit is equipped with a remote control for selecting all the available functions, allowing you to enjoy long listening sessions in comfort.
The NAS-DAC has been designed in the pure tradition of Monrio, using only Hi-End solutions and components.
The power supply is made up of two toroidal transformers which supply DAC, analog and servo system circuit with the necessary voltages separately.
This solution – together with the use of several separate DC regulators – allows a better noise reduction.

Privilege was the first CD Player built by Monrio. Launched in 1997, the Privilege was the beginning of an uninterrupted series of CD Player characterized by excellent musicality and an aesthetics almost always innovative and particular. Thanks to the long experience in achieving and testing different circuit solutions in the analogue section and D / A conversion, we were able to achieve a world-class CD Player with excellent musical characteristic and construction; the Top Loader Type 3.
The Top Loader Type 3 was born in 2007, is distinguished by its exclusive and original aesthetics matched to a very good electric characteristics but also by its high cost due to the material used and to its complex construction.
Strengthened by this experience, we wanted to make a CDP of equal musical characteristic - if not higher, because in the meantime we were able to experiment with new technology in both digital and analogue section. - but with more affordable cost by simplifying the mechanical construction..
Solid and elegant, the Top Loader Type 2 CD Player combines aesthetics design with the latest and most advanced in digital technology. Combined with the best digital and a fully differential circuit topology with dual-triode vacuum gain and solid state regulation - located directly on the audio circuit board -, the Top Loader Type 2 is a remarkable performer. Power Supply stage, DAC stage and Output stage are isolated electronically and mechanically from the mechanism via a separate chassis. An aluminium stabilizer centers the disc and provides good vibration absorption and achieves strong clamping force without affecting laser performance. It consist of two parts design - one dedicated to the reading mechanism, servo digital and user control and the other for DAC and output stage amplifiers - with individual power transformers and complete independent lines power. Analogue output stage uses two 12AU7 triodes, the audio stage features high-voltage regulation using high-voltage transistors coupled to a massive power supply. It was the entry-level Synergy that first alerted us to this small UK specialist cable manufacturer. While the look and feel of the £50 interconnect was nothing to write home about, the performance spoke volumes, the cable delivering a sound that wouldn’t disgrace a cable at around twice that much. Well, at £240 the Euphony is a whole new price point, and there’s some intense competition from the likes of Chord Company, to name but one big brand. This mid-to-high end interconnect has equally no-nonsense in presentation – no lurid ‘day-glo’ shell suit colours here. The braided sleeve is of excellent quality and the soldering to the WBT-0144 locking RCA plugs is excellent too. These are a pain for reviewers constantly plugging and unplugging cables but once you’ve locked them in position, they stay! Euphony uses a twisted pair configuration, but beyond this Brilliance doesn’t specify any technical details.
Once again though, the performance speaks volumes, the Euphony proving more than price competitive. In absolute, cost-no-object terms, there’s a touch of haze to the midband, and a slightly soft and rose-tinted presentation (hence the name, I presume?), but in sub-£300 terms this is utterly on the pace with an expansive, detailed and engaging sound. Whilst it never sounds explicitly detailed (in the way that Nordost cables do, for example), it is no less informative and more engaging to listen to than rivals under £300. Bass is full but controlled, midband is mellifluous and beguiling, and treble silky smooth and spacious. Overall an excellent interconnect that just plays music. It’s particularly amenable with ultra spry and analytical sounding CD players (the Audiolab 8000CD benefited immensely!), and many will be reassured that much of the purchase price has been spent on the cable rather than fancy packaging.

Its tonal balance is well-judged, and the level of clarity is a match for anything below the £100 mark. If you only need 0.5m, you'll save £13 off the price stated above. "While £83, isn’t the cheapest price around for interconnect, these low capacitance cables are suitable for any source component, even elderly valve kit that can be fussy about such parameters. Synergy’s sound is very clear and open with solid base, though not quite as much weight in the lowest octaves as some cables can offer. "This tiny UK manufacturer has a range of products including mains leads, noise filters and interconnects, all beautifully made despite the sensible prices. The Interconnects are available in increments of 0.1m, so if you only need 0.7m, you don's need to buy 1m - meaning you save money and get better sound, because as with all bits of hi-fi wire, in terms of sonics, less is more! Be warned though - you'll have to order two weeks before the big day if you're wanting to surprise someone!. Well, the wait is worth it. This cable sports Teflon coaxial cable and Canare RCA terminators, the low capacitance of the former making it suitable for longer runs. The sound per pound ratio is superb. It has a truly open and neutral demeanour, far better than the average clangy sounding £50 interconnect. In fact, it rather resembles far more expensive VdH (Van Den Hul) and LFD Spirolink in its depth and neutrality - you really get the sense that you're listening to the hi-fi and not the cable. Tonally its quite dark (ironic considering the name), but with an airy and extended treble all the same. Ideal for 'budget audiophile' applications where sound is as much an issue as price.

Anti-Vibration feet
Several Companies are marketing vibration absorption feet made of sorbothane or similar material. We have replaced our sorbothane feet with ones composed of a new material. We learned of a material developed by an aerospace vendor. This material was developed because of a serious problem encountered in commercial aircraft. Specifically, continuous vibrations of the craft cause abrasion and failure of electrical wires. This new material is being used in aircraft wire harness clamps that hold wire in place. What is an FMOD? The FMOD is an active crossover simulator. It is better than a much more expensive electronic crossover that requires power to operate. FMODs are packaged in pairs and can be combined with other FMODs to obtain bandpass ranges or with other types of crossovers to change the slope and crossover frequency point. FMODs feature a 12 dB per octave crossover slope and are compatible with all RCA type input amps...simply place the FMOD in-line with the patch cable running between the source (head unit if used in car audio) and the pre-amp or amplifier. 24 kt gold over brass construction, 10 volts maximum RMS input. Attenuators reduce the drive signal to an amplifier so that the input level or gain control can be adjusted in a more useful range. For example, if the line driver has an 8 volt output and the amplifier has a 100mV (0.1V) to 2 volt range of input level, the gain pots would have to be all the way down. A 12 dB attenuator would allow you to adjust the amp's gain control to about 1/2 rotation. The cooker is working superbly for me, and is truly indispensable.
The interconnects I am making need at least four days on the Cooker - I haven't tried any longer than that yet.
They certainly sound good after four days and don't exhibit any of the downsides of over-Cooking,
but I shall try a slightly longer burn soon and see what happens.
The sound does get better over the next 2 to 3 days but nothing like the variation I experienced with the 3 day burn.

The Cable Cooker arrived safely some days ago. Meanwhile, for the beginning,
I have cooked all my interconnects. The result is stupendous since they were already "broken in".
The beneficial effect is audible throughout the whole spectrum,
from the deepest lows to the highest highs, and spaciousness is more developed too.

A BRIEF TECHNICAL DISCUSSION ABOUT THE CABLE COOKER™
Although it is not yet fully understood scientifically, the phenomenon of "cable break-in" has been experienced by many audiophiles. Interconnects, speaker cables and even power cords seem to go through a conditioning period when used in an audio/video system, and will sound better after many hours of in-system use. The sonic differences between wiring that is broken-in and wiring that is not are very audible in high quality audio systems.
The break-in process is believed to be due primarily to current flowing through the conductors of wiring components. Dielectric stress caused by a voltage difference between the conductors is also believed to be of some benefit. The fact that it takes many hours of in-system use for wiring components to break in is primarily due to the low-level nature of audio/video signals from normal program material.
As an example, let us take an interconnect used to connect the output of a preamplifier to the input of a power amplifier. The typical maximum signal level for full power output of the average power amplifier is 2 volts peak. The average signal is much less. The typical input impedance of a power amplifier will be 10k ohms at the (very) low end for consumer gear---47 to 100k ohms is typical for a solid state amplifier, while several hundred kohms is not unusual for a tube power amplifier.
Taking the (unrealistic) best-case values from the above examples, the maximum current seen is 2 volts/10k ohms = 200 micro-amperes ... and this would not be continuous current, as the voltage value is a peak value, not an rms value.
For the sake of demonstration and comparison we will describe a "use value" consisting of the current flowing through the wiring component according to the above equation, multiplied by the total time this current flows. We will refer to this use value as CTV, or "Current-Time-Value".
Playing an interconnect cable in an audio system for one week (168 hours) of continuous use would expose it to the following use value: 168 hours x 0.0002 amperes = CTV of 0.0336
The CABLE COOKER™ was designed to produce signal levels far in excess of those seen in normal audio/video system use. Internally, the device contains a sweeping square wave oscillator that drives a very high-efficiency "H" bridge MOSFET switching circuit. The output signal includes a swept square wave calibrated from below 40 Hz to over 18 kHz (plus harmonics). Output voltage is 12 volts rms. The current through the wiring component is determined by the load at the input connector of the CABLE COOKER™. In the case of interconnect cables, the measured current is 120 milli-amperes.
Installing an interconnect on the CABLE COOKER™ for one week results in a CTV of: 168 hours x 0.12 Amperes = CTV of 20.16
This is a value 600 times greater than that obtained under the most ideal of audio system conditions. The "stress" on the dielectric of the interconnect is also much higher than in normal use due to the higher output voltage. It should be readily apparent why results with the CABLE COOKER™ are often quite audible after as little as 24 hours of use.
The same powerful signal described above is also produced at the speaker cable output binding posts. The load at the speaker cable inputs, however, is designed to draw a continuous 1.88 amperes of current through the wire. With a potential of 12 volts, this is equivalent to a continuous signal level in excess of 22 watts!! It must again be emphasized that this is a continuous condition (i.e., rms).
This extreme continuous-signal level, produced in an audio system in a regular listening environment for any length of time, would force us from the room due to the highly uncomfortable and intensively-loud volume. One can now correlate the impressive signal level produced by the CABLE COOKER™ and the benefits derived by its use with the cabling in our audio/video systems.

The Model 192 represents a technologically more advanced DAC, born for the future. A two channel converter its circuit is designed for insertion into a multichannel conversion system, rendering it a long-lasting investment in the future.
The Model 192 is a classic two channel digital-to-analog converter that allows the conversion of digital signals until 192kHz-24bit according to the DVD-Audio standard. The input signals from a CD, DAT, DAB, DVD-Video are directly (at the same input frequency) converted or upsampled to 192kHz-24bit before the conversion.

The jitter in the input data is lowering by a oscillator circuit wich re-clock the input data.
The analog stage is DC coupled with the DAC, without capacitor on signal path, only with discrete and selected (gain matched) components (no OP AMP). Low negative feedback.
The power supply is separated for analog and digital with two toroidal transformers; all voltages are double regulated.
The M192 have a I2S input on RJ45 connector; this connection allow to convert an input signal until 192kHz-24bit. This connection is supported by the North Star Design CD-transport. On I2S connection the digital signal is directly transferred to the DAC without jitter; digital audio data and clocks are separetly transmitted to the DAC and no mixed in a sigle signal like S/PDIF or AES/EBU; this avoid any jitter problem in clock reconstruction.

Overview
Radio frequency interference is now universally regarded to be a major problem in high quality audio replay. As all cables, generally speaking, act as antenna and attract RFI it was vital to provide an affordable solution to this problem whilst maintaining neutrality within the cable design.
The Premium, Elite, Optimum and Supreme offer a sensible solution to this problem and are designed to work with our more sophisticated filtering products without adding characteristics of their own, a problem that is often overlooked within mains cable design.
We chose not to offer a platting solution, although this is a wise choice for RFI rejection capacitance is often built up within the cable as a by product, in our designs we wanted to not only provide a good quality link to our products from the mains supply and to equipment coupled to our equipment but also provide a link that did not alter the sonic characterises of the hardware. Therefore our cables offer a no-nonsense solution. Three high-grade cores of annealed Oxygen Free Copper conductors are encased in a highly flexible PVC inner sheath, this is then surrounded by a braided screen, this earthed screen forms an active RF shield around the inner cores. The effect is a reduction in the background mush within the system, producing a more open airy sound with a greater sense of high frequency detail. The cable is terminated with high quality connectors to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
Premium
High quality 16 amp rated OFC cable suitable for use with all components. RFI and EMI shielded whilst being fitted with a high quality mains plug and a conventional IEC connector.
Elite
The IsoTek Elite mains cables provide a solution without sacrifice to the audio signal. Constructed from three cores of annealed Oxygen Free Copper conductors within a highly flexible PVC inner sheath and surrounded by a braided screen, this screen forms an active RF shield around the inner cores. The effect is a reduction in the background mush within the system, producing a more open airy sound with a greater sense of high frequency detail. Rated at 16A makes this cable ideal for all components especially power amplifiers, power supplies and of course mains conditioning devices. The Elite is also fitted with an IsoTek high quality IEC connector.
Optimum
The Optimum uses the same high grade Oxygen Free Copper as the Elite, but with larger conductors rated at 20A. This makes it ideal for use with amplifiers and active speakers and anything else which may draw a large amount of current. The Optimum uses a high quality copper plug and the IsoTek high quality IEC connector.
Supreme
Using the same cable as the Optimum, the Supreme is even better for high current products as it uses a high quality gold Furutech 3 pin plug, with a IsoTek high quality IEC connector.

Product Introduction
The NeoPlug is a plug in device that can be used with all UK. It's design builds upon the industry standard of a delta filter configuration across the three poles of the mains. It can provide highly effective results when plugged next to noisy appliances, for example, fridges, computers, etc. Due to the sophisticated circuitry it will never be necessary to use more than two NeoPlugs in a home environment.
Overview & Development
In short the NeoPlug forms your first line of defence against mains noise. The NeoPlug can also be used in a typical 'off-the-shelf' distribution strip to give added performance. This forms a very cost effective way of giving a good level of mains filtering whilst distributing power.
Through the new development of the GII IsoPlug our design team saw an opportunity to push the concepts of the device still further, the working title and eventual name was the NeoPlug. Although there is a relative leap in cost between the two, the highly sophisticated circuitry of the NeoPlug is well worth the additional investment, and in many ways bridges the gap between our relatively simple entry-level IsoPlug and our more sophisticated mains filters and distribution systems.
The NeoPlug development was instigated as an intellectual exercise based upon the problem solving originally started in the development of the GII IsoPlug. Our design team had already established that if it were possible to completely overcome the problems with capacitor inductance a device should work at an optimum level. The breakthrough came from an idea that was common in the 1940s, but is seldom seen today, namely gas discharge tubes. These have astonishing speed of response, but do not absorb significant energy compared to modern devices and in themselves would not be effective, however used in exactly the right environment with auxiliary circuitry they have amazing potential. Therefore, in short, the NeoPlug is an IsoPlug with an auxiliary circuit featuring multiple gas discharge tubes.
The 'technical' NeoPlug solution was then advanced further through multiple listening tests. Various batches were created and independently tested without the listeners knowing the version type. Finally we reached an optimal circuit and specification, which achieved 100% preferred results in a variety of audio and AV systems.

In sonic terms the NeoPlug has a way of making the music more involving to listen to. The midrange, where the ear is more sensitive, is extremely open with an increased realism in terms of imaging. The big difference is in it's ability to effectively remove high frequency mush, that typical digital sound which can all to easily cause listening fatigue, it is in this area that the auxiliary circuit really comes into its own.

Overview
When we developed the GII IsoPlug we wanted to do our best to improve on what is basically a text book application to a problem, i.e. a delta filter configuration across the tree poles of the mains, this configuration formed the basis for the original IsoPlug.
Over the last three years our products have been developing through our ongoing research and development programs. It soon became apparent that it was possible to advance the original IsoPlug design, thus bringing it into GII status.
The GII IsoPlug is a careful balance between quantity and quality, as the circuit had to be highly effective, but be built essentially for a price point. Even at this level the quality of components used within the design are paramount, therefore we've employed highly effective design principles with critical component specification.
Because capacitors suffer from inductance (which is the opposite of capacitance), very high quality capacitors with the least inductance were specified. The over voltage protection has three functions, firstly to protect your audio or AV system, secondly, to protect the device itself (IsoPlug) and thirdly, to ease the workload of the capacitor. This has a highly desirable effect on the overall function of the device. A poor choice of any of these components, especially the over voltage device can actually have an adverse effect and ruin sound quality (dynamics).

'Polaris-X' technology, reducing products talking to each other via the mains supply. The units are simple to install, an LED indicator illuminates when the Multi-Way is powered, and a dedicated earth post allows for the grounding of other sensitive electronics within the system.
Placement
The Multi-Ways are particularly useful for home theatre installations where there are never enough power outputs. Its discrete size allows for easy placement behind or to the side of audio racks. If this proves to be a problem we also produce a dedicated wall mounting bracket which allows the Multi-Way to be positioned either vertically or horizontally.
Equipment coupling
With the Multi-Way positioned so that the 'IsoTek' logo is readable you should notice an IEC inlet and earth post to the left, this is where the unit is powered. Above these in an LED indicator light, which will illuminate when the unit is connected to the mains supply. The top of the unit features a number of high quality unswitched outlets which power your equipment. These accept any brand of mains cable, although we do recommend a high quality shielded cable.

The Gemini has been developed for entry-level systems that consist of a single source front end and integrated amplification.
Overview
The Gemini utilises our purpose designed aluminium extrusion and features two high quality unswitched sockets. These deliver 2300 watts and are therefore suitable for all components. The unit can also be ordered in either 4, 6 or 8 way configurations.

This sophisticated unit eliminates product cross contamination through sophisticated shunt filters coupled with our proprietary gating system and our 'Polaris-X' technology. The compact design also offers easy 'plug-n-play' installation and can be safely used with all components.

Product Introduction
The Orion has two sockets, one medium output and one high output. It has been developed to work with a source component and a high current device, integrated amplifier or power amplifier. It is possible to use a number of Orions throughout an audio system, for example two Orion's to power a CD, DAC, pre / power system combination. In this application the performance would be superior to a GII Mini Sub.

The sophisticated Orion circuit has been developed for high-end applications and although compact in scale the Orion is packed with the latest technological breakthroughs.
Features
The Orion uses a complex multiple shunt, multiple series and multiple delta filtering coupled with sophisticated gating principles and proprietary 'Polaris-X' technology. These features effectively stop components seeing or talking to each other and isolate source from high current components.
In the past we have utilised over engineered isolation transformers to reduce a shifting neutral, which often causes mechanical noise within components. Through groundbreaking research and development, we have been able to resolve the problems of neutral shift without the traditional limitations of a components physical size. This technology also paved the way for the research and subsequent release of the Titan.
The Orion features two high quality unswitched sockets, one rated at 700 watts (medium) ideal for source components, CDs, DVD, SACDs, turntables etc, and the second rated at 2300 watts for high current devices, for example projectors, large integrated and power amplifiers. It is however also possible to use the high current socket on source components.

Overview
The GII Mini Sub & Vision have been universally accepted as the best component from component isolating mains power distributor at their price point. It was designed to be a very rewarding single box ‘plug-n-play’ solution for a complete audio or home theatre system. The GII Mini Sub & Vision offer astounding value for money and gives a taste of what our truly high-end solutions offer. Within our product range the GII Mini Sub & Vision sit between the Solus and isolation transformer based SubStation.
At the rear of the unit you will note six high quality outlets, these are individually filtered to stop components ‘talking’ to each other or corrupting the clean supply provided by the unit. This is achieved by a series of delta filters on the outputs and a sophisticated filter circuit, which was inspired by work in cryogenics, and harnesses the technique used for the switching of cryogenic coils. Both products feature our new ‘Polaris-X’ technology that draws mains contaminants away from audio components plugged into the unit.
Outputs 1 & 2 have been given a higher power rating and should be used for high current devices, for example power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, some ‘tube’ pre-amplifiers, projectors and plasma screens etc. The remaining four are suitable for all other equipment, for example CD players, turntables etc…
GII Mini Sub & Vision features enhanced protection through stabilising the units voltage and giving it a very large absorption ability, this is extremely important in today’s society where dangerous power surges can damage sensitive audio equipment.
All fusing is external, this eliminates any need to enter the product. The unit is so safe that even if the mains are wired incorrectly in the rest of the house or environment that the product is used, the unit will correct the problem sonically.
All components are of the highest grade and are under stressed, this gives greater longevity. These are hand soldered onto a PCB with silver solder, the large PCB also features a ground plane upper surface acting as a very high grade common mode filter across the whole board, this allows the unit to act as a true faraday cage, protecting itself from RFI and other components from the job it performs.
Safety
In the interests of safety the unit should be placed upon its own dedicated shelf on an audio grade equipment rack. The unit may be placed on top of or under other pieces of equipment, do not exceed a maximum weight loading of 20kg.
Areas where ‘tube’ amplifiers are present should not exceed 25 degrees. If you are positioning the Mini Sub or Vision in the close proximity of such a device please be aware of this factor.
If you have to locate the unit on the floor we strongly recommend you do not place the unit near heat sources, such as radiators or air ducts. Good air circulation is essential to prevent heat build up within the chassis. Do not place the Mini Sub or Vision on a soft surface, for example a rug or carpet, which could block the ventilation intakes on the underside of the unit. Do not let any liquids spill onto or objects fall into the chassis. Should either of these events happen immediately switch off the unit at the wall socket, wait for at least one minute, unplug all other cables and return it to your authorised IsoTek dealer for a full service.
Placement
Ideally the unit should be placed upon its own dedicated shelf of an audio grade equipment rack. If this is not possible the unit may be placed on top of or under other pieces of equipment to a maximum weight limit of 20kg. Due to the products careful screening by way of a large ground plan within the unit, no adverse effects should be caused by this placement. The underside of Sigmas features two Thermo-magnetic fuses, these can be easily accessed from the front panel using the to sculpted cut outs (just below the LEDs) as position indicators. The Sigmas adopts the British electric ‘integrity of fusing’ system. Therefore the (right) 16amp Thermo-magnetic fuse switch must be engaged first, followed by the (left) 6amp. These are located, and can be accessed from the front panel or underside of the unit and eliminate any need to enter the product. IsoTek further enhances the ‘integrity of fusing’ by the use of specialised VDR over voltage protection devices. These are specially selected to offer over voltage safety whilst not effecting audio quality.
All components used within Sigmas are of the highest grade or designed by IsoTek and manufactured to MOD / Aerospace specification and tolerance. All components are under stressed, which gives greater longevity. These high quality parts are then hand soldered (in England) onto the PCB with silver solder. The unit is also fully star earthed.
Placement

Features
At the rear of the unit you will note six high quality outlets, these are individually filtered to stop components ‘talking’ to each other or corrupting the clean supply provided by the unit. This is achieved by a series of high quality filters on each of the outputs and a sophisticated ‘adaptive gating’ system which auto senses the requirement of filtering products connected to the medium current outlets need.
Outputs 1 & 2 (high current) feature the ‘direct coupled design’ concepts first introduced to the field of power conditioning with the Titan. This allows for almost unlimited transient ability, essential for higher power rated products, such as power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, some ‘tube’ pre-amplifiers, projectors and plasma screens, etc. the remaining four being suitable for all other equipment.
The underside of Sigmas features two Thermo-magnetic fuses, these can be easily accessed from the front panel using the to sculpted cut outs (just below the LEDs) as position indicators. The Sigmas adopts the British electric ‘integrity of fusing’ system. Therefore the (right) 16amp Thermo-magnetic fuse switch must be engaged first, followed by the (left) 6amp. These are located, and can be accessed from the front panel or underside of the unit and eliminate any need to enter the product. IsoTek further enhances the ‘integrity of fusing’ by the use of specialised VDR over voltage protection devices. These are specially selected to offer over voltage safety whilst not effecting audio quality.
All components used within Sigmas are of the highest grade or designed by IsoTek and manufactured to MOD / Aerospace specification and tolerance. All components are under stressed, which gives greater longevity. These high quality parts are then hand soldered (in England) onto the PCB with silver solder. The unit is also fully star earthed.
Placement
Ideally the unit should be placed upon its own dedicated shelf of an audio grade equipment rack. If this is not possible the unit may be placed on top of or under other pieces of equipment to a maximum weight limit of 20kg. If you have to locate the unit on the floor or in any other location please refer to the safety section of this manual.

Overview
A little over two years ago we advocated that power amplifiers benefited from a clean supply This was based upon our research that every component within a system benefited from specific tailored filtering solutions. We felt it was not enough to isolate components from noise on the mains alone. Our research showed that as a component draws power the mains supply is corrupted, basically anything with a power supply would cause this result. Our original SubStation allowed users to specify specific filters for each application. We later advocated larger over engineered isolation transformers for power amplifiers, we called these the 'Qube' and released three versions 1000, 2000 and 4000VA.
A maximum power multiplier was used; if a component drew 500 watts at peak then this figure should be doubled and then doubled again to protect against transient information loss. At the time we felt that they offered the best possible solution. New research breakthroughs show we can do better.
Although there are many things a good isolation transformer can deliver there are, however, several downsides which no matter how hard one tries cannot be overcome. Even though we specified extremely large isolation transformers a reduction in transient response was almost inevitable. This was simply down to various forms of insertion loss within the transformer itself. This is caused by the transformer having a higher impedance than the mains supply typically would.
In order to overcome the limiting factors of isolation transformers we recognised a fundamental shift in thinking was required. Calculations suggest that the typical transient energy available from a typical 13amp mains socket is equivalent to 23,000 watts. In an ideal world, to obtain the best results, the absolute minimum size of isolation transformer if used for filtering would be 23,000 watts. This is obviously a ludicrous suggestion. Although it's anybody's guess what a true mains transient is, we feel this figure stands reasonable scrutiny and maybe a minimum.
It became apparent, almost immediately, that we could not possibly offer this specification; it also became apparent that in order to achieve what we felt was required, we had to.
Features
The new Titan dispenses with isolation transformer technology in favour of a direct-coupled design with a nine-stage series and parallel filter configuration. This is optimised for a high degree of common mode rejection, with the highest possible differential mode rejection compatible with low insertion losses. Great care has been taken to minimise insertion loss at mains frequency. Another asset of an isolation transformer would be a balanced supply, however the new circuit also offers these desirable characteristics, especially at high frequencies where it could be debated it possesses superior performance. To further ensure the greatest possible transient response, enough to realise 23,000 watts potential, two things out of the ordinary have been achieved. Firstly, the minimum constant running ability of the device is rated at over 4,600 watts. Secondly, the unit is fitted with an RCBO, this high tech electronic fusing offers huge transient overloads whilst remaining safe. It also has the added bonus of protecting power cords against long term overload conditions.
Placement
The Titan can be placed either on a dedicated shelf of an equipment support rack or in a position next to or near the power amplifier it supplies. Adequate ventilation should be given to the unit, therefore we would not recommend that it is covered or enclosed in a very tight space. It is also recommended that the unit is not used outside or in areas susceptible to damp conditions.
Equipment coupling
The Titan has been designed specifically for high current applications, especially power amplifiers. Titan is so powerful in terms of transient ability that it is only limited by the network it is plugged into, therefore if possible we would recommend a dedicated supply be installed. You will need to seek the advice of a qualified electrician for this (at time of writing, they would require Part P and Edition 16 of IEEE regulations). At the rear of the Titan chassis are two high quality unswitched outlets these can be used for power amplifiers or other high current devices. The Titan has also been equipped with a Neutrik out to support other specific IsoTek items.
System integration
The Titan should be used with its supplied power cord. Should users wish to change this for their own preferred brand the cable MUST be rated with a minimum of 16Amps. We strongly recommend that a good quality mains cable be used throughout your system. Look for a cable with good conductors, for example oxygen free copper, this cable should also possess a high degree of shielding from RFI

REVIEWS
Cable manufacturers have a love-hate relationship with this plug: although the Bullet Plug was considered the state of the art until the WBT 0110 came onto the scene, the make-shift-looking plastic plug is a nightmare when it comes to cable customising. I currently have the LG Vu and my dad has the iPhone. i convinced him to switch phones with me but i cant get the info from his phone onto his sim card. is there a way to transfer his contacts, messages, and email onto my phone? all my info is saved on my sim card that is no problem. its just the iphone.

The new iphone supports UMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz) and I believe T-mobile's 3g network supports 2100 and 1700 mhz. If the phone supports just one of tmobile's frequencies will it work or would you need both to be compatible. Assuming you could unlock the phone for tmobile in the US.

So I restored my iphone, and after that was complete I received several text messages. But since my phone had been wiped clean I didn't know who they were from. Then I but the back up of my phone (you know the back up of your phone when it syncs?, I restored that onto my phone) but those aforementioned texts weren't there. Is there any way for me to get those text messages? Thank You!

I jailbroke my iphone 3g 2.2.1 with quickpwn and it froze. Now when I turn it on it shows and apple icon and a loading pinwheel but never goes any further. Is it possible to fix it without restoring it to its factory settings?

I was planning to spray matte black on it. Do I have to sand it? and do I have to apply primier for the 1st coat, then the matte black for the second coat?? Anything else that Im missing? And I also spray tint (VHT tint spray) on the brezel of the iphone, is it the same step as spraying the back? Thanks!

TECHNICAL INTRODUCTION
In traditional electro-acoustic engineering, people only focus on the physics of the frequency spectrum from 20Hz to 20kHz, commonly known as "audible spectrum". If that is the only frequency range that matters, all audio cables & speaker wires should sound the same, all brands of tubes should sound almost the same, all amplifiers IC's should sound almost the same. However, almost every audiophile had experienced the noticeable difference in performance between cables, tubes, amplifiers and so on. Why?
The reason is that there is a lot of harmonics in musical signal besides the fundamental frequencies. More importantly, these are very precious details in high fidelity reproduction. Eg. when the drumstick hits the bass drum (very low frequency instrument), the leading edge(very sharp rise of amplitude in very short time) signal created by the quick touch can be up to the kilohertz range. In the case of piano,the last key can produce a fundamental frequency of 4186Hz but the eighth harmonic of the same key is actually 33488Hz. Moreover, when the pianist hits the key, the leading edge can have even much higher frequency content which our ears can sense. Anyone can find out this fact by comparing the sound of the same piece of music from a real piano & the sound of a normal hi-fi system that can only work up to 20kHz. The real piano should sound more dynamic with a wider range of frequency response.
Since music harmonics can be up to very frequencies (well over 20kHz), the electrical characteristics of components at very high frequency will affect the music reproduction. In many expensive professional audio equipment, it is common to see the presence of non-indusive capacitors, ultra high speed IC's and so on. The reason for the factory to spend that extraordinary high cost in producing the equipment is to make sure that it sounds great. In many cases, expensive components may not always sound good due to the fact that the "micro phase alignment" (phase alignment of signal or particle motions uinder very high frequency condition) was not taken care of. This problem is indeed more obvious in video equipment design as the signal frequency is much higher. After over 25 years of scientific research, we now have a perfect solution to recover all those valuable details of audio and video signals.
Thanks to the proprietary Euphoria Technology, the AER Disc Energizer can indue the "micro phase alignment field" to a CD or DVD effectively within 5 seconds (through photon emission)simply by pressing a button. Once the disc has the induced energy and being excited by the laser of the player, two things will happen. On one hand, the disc will produce a micro phase alignment field that aligns all the signal paths (conductor in audio equipment) closed (within 1m) to the disc player. On the other hand, the disc will generate a micro phase alignment field that aligns the motions (sound wave in air) of gases and water molecules in the air. Once the micro phase alignment is achieved, signal loss in equipment and energy loss of sound wave (music details) in air particles will be minimized. It is also very easy to notice that the bass will be stronger, deeper and with more details due to less micro phase cancellation in the sound transmission. The result is higher density of midrange, wider and taller sound stage, solid extension of bass and treble, more energetic vocals and wider dyamic range.
Besides, the Disc Engergizer is also very effective for Cables,room environment,equipment upgrading. The Beresford Caiman is the first commercially available DAC to use some of these components, and the only one to incorporate so many of them all in one go.
Each Beresford Caiman is individually modified and assembled by hand, before undergoing a test session. Such level of workmanship is unheard of in the DAC market at this price level. But it ensures that each one of the limited quantity production run is built to the highest standard and care.
WM8716 - 64x oversampling DAC chip. The majority of high-end consumer DAC chips are only 8x oversampling types. The Caiman DAC chip is only matched or surpassed by the DSP based DAC chips. Digital Filter Circuit. There has been much debate as to how much damage is done to the audio signal by the various analogue filtering networks that are found in a DAC. The new 64x oversampling technology used in the Beresford Caiman relies instead on a digital filter. This makes the Caiman less prone to anti aliasing filter residues and noise.
LM4562NA - Recording Studio specification audio operational amplifiers. The 64x oversampling technology requires a far higher slew rate from the audio chips in the signal path if the extra speed, detail, and accuracy of the decoded signal is to be maintained at the RCA/PHONO and headphone socket output of the Caiman. The Beresford TC-7510 is an uncomplicated Digital to Analogue Converter with design features offering the ideal solution for the modern day high technology home hi-fi or multi-media environment.
Most digital to analogue converters are aimed at the CD and DVD audiophiles. The TC-7510 has however been designed for a broader range of application and has been further optimized for accurate PC and wireless digital audio reproduction. That includes wireless servers such as the SB3, Airport Express, DAB radio, and satellite audio.
The TC-7510 is a 4 digital inputs audio DAC with 24bit/96KHz digital input capability. It reclocks and resamples incoming digital data using its own inbuilt jitter free clock in order to negate jitter in the original signal. The actual Digital to Analog conversion process takes place at 352.8KHz for a 16 bit/44.1KHz CD audio signal, and 384KHz for DVD audio. This higher frequency sampling rate accounts for a large part for the detailed resolution and separation of singers and instruments in a recording.

The TC-7520 is a 4 inputs audio DAC with 24bit/96KHz digital input capability. It has two re-clocking circuits, compared to none or just one on other DACs on the market.
One re-clocking circuit handles just the incoming USB data. This is to prevent us having to design a compromised clock with multi purpose ability. The results from the TC-7520 must rate as one of the best available from any USB DAC at any price.
A second re-clocking circuit handles the SPDIF signals. The resulting detail in even 128kbs mp3 files is even better than many CD/DVD only capable DACs.
The LINE output stage of the TC-7520 consists of a fixed output and a variable output. The fixed output should be connected to a preamp or integrated amp. The Variable output allows the TC-7520 to be used as a preamp.
The headphone amplifier is a completely new design and can hold its own against stand alone headphone amplifiers costing several times the price of the TC-7520. Extensive research has allowed us to design a headphone amp that does not produce that boomy midhead sound of conventional headphone amps. Neither does it produce the lack of bass and signal cancellation side effects of a cross-feed headphone amplifier. What the TC-7520 headphone amp does do is produce one of the best soundstage with outstanding detail and excellent headphone load handling ability. Its almost binaural response sounds far more natural and involved than a cross-feed design.
Analog Audio:
Separate Left and Right audio ICs are behind the audio capabilities of the TC-7520 headphone amplifier. This is only used for the headphone amplifier output. Audio to the external headphone and line outputs is not processed this way, only level control is adjustable in the digital domain for these ports. A ¼” headphone socket is driven by a dedicated headphone amplifier, which is a highcurrent amplifier that is capable of driving a wide variety of headphone loads, and even outperforms many external headphone amplifiers costing more than a complete TC-7520.
The Volume Control sets the output level of the headphone socket. It can also be used to control the output level of the Variable RCA analog outputs.
The TC-7520 is designed to connect directly to power amps and powered speakers in order to provide the cleanest and shortest path from digital to monitor output.
In the TC-7520, audio for the stereo headphone socket and stereo line output sockets are all treated separately. This means that the two types of outputs are separately amplified and there should be no interaction with loading on the various ports.
However the audio output to all analog outputs are the same. You cannot send one audio feed to the headphones and another to the line output, both will always play the same audio.
The analogue audio output stage and headphone amplifier operates in Class A. This means that there is no crossover distortion in the audio output, which results in a fuller and better dimensioned sound.
The TC-7520 cost versus performance is more in the high-end league.
The cleverly designed analogue layout helps to maintain minute details, depth, and punch in the information retrieval of the digital audio signal. We have also paid great attention to sound stage and sonic depth, giving the TC-7520 audio performance levels that were previously only available from similar products costing several times the price of the TC-7520.
The unique Virtual DC power supply is largely to thank for the leap in performance.
The two part external and internal power supply supports all international voltages and has generous margins for over and under voltage conditions.
In sonic terms, the TC-7520 represents a revelation of previously undiscovered instruments and vocal nuances, reproducing every note in great detail. It displays increased air and sparkle that gives the sound a more vibrant character, producing a very accurate and realistic 3D focus. Greater audio resolution along with improved definition bring to life previously undiscovered secrets embedded in the original recording. Everything in every region sounds significantly more detailed and, at the same time, more relaxed and lifelike. Live music flows on the TC-7520 with a realistic sense of linearity, tonality and energy. The virtual stage is gone and replaced with a real atmosphere.
The TC-7520 is certainly true to the recording, but it is more true to the music's essence. with increased image and body. The treble sounds more luminous and brilliant, and the midrange to the bass firmer and more resolute.
A compact and solid metal enclosure protects the TC-7520 against damage in all but the most testing environment.

DNM Stereo Solid Core Precision speaker cable - New design
Specifications:
This latest stereo solid core cable from DNM has a balance of parameters to enable it to work in a wide variety of hi-fi systems. Instead of using 0.65mm diameter conductors the DNM Stereo Solid Core Speaker version uses 1mm diameter high purity copper to reduce the resistance by a factor of 2.5 times. This allows longer cable runs, less sensitive speakers and higher power amplifiers to be used.
The ribbon dimensions are set to reduce the capacitance and slightly increase the inductance, to ensure amplifier stability with longer runs of cable. The result is a stereo ribbon 25.5mm wide and 2.2mm thick with the same facility for easy installation as the Precision cable but with a much higher performance in medium to low sensitivity speaker systems.
The recommended way of using the new DNM Stereo Solid Core Speaker cable is as follows :-
The cable directionality can be determined by noting that the print runs in the same direction as the signal.
At the amplifier end separate the cable just enough to allow the plugs to be fitted and plugged into the amplifier.
Then try to run the ribbon complete without separating it as far as possible towards the speakers to gain the full performance benefit of the fixed spacing of all the conductors. Run the cable along the planned path to the furthest speaker before cutting it to length. Then separate the cable ribbon into the two channels back to the point midway between the speakers to allow connection to the left and right speakers.
